How I Approach CRO Consultancy

Getting improved results on your website requires data and a methodical approach. Here's an insight into the process I use to move the needle on your website.

THE TECHNICAL STUFF

Are visitors put off before they get to the money page?
From site speed to compatibility issues. The technical aspects of a website are often overlooked.

Before we do anything at all, we check to see if there is anything that is negatively impacting visitor experience. For example, could there be a mobile device that doesn't see the whole page properly? 

Could a particular browser not display the website properly. All of these things and more can stop visitors converting.

DATA ANALYSIS

If you can measure it - you can improve it.
It sounds simple doesn't it. Look at the data and make the changes. We harvest data from a whole host of places including:

Google Analytics
Session Recording Software
Adwords
Facebook

Using the data - we work out the changes that are most likely to improve a visitors experience enough to make them want to convert.

FIND OUT FROM VISITORS

Straight from the horses mouth
Learning from those who have actually been through the conversion pipeline often gives some of the biggest clues as to what could be changed to improve conversions.

Sometimes it's not what they say, but it's more along the lines as to what they do.

We record sessions to see where there may be roadblocks or issues that would ordinarily be missed.

Getting customer feedback can mean all of the difference.

Getting open ended answers to questions, matched with session data can prove invaluable when optimising a website.

From not understanding the next step to - long load times, all of these can prove too much for a fickle customer - who has another 10 websites just like yours if - your site doesn't perform as expected.

SESSION TRACKING & RECORDING

See exactly what your visitors are doing
Actually watching sessions recorded on your website, is a great way to get insight into bottlenecks and roadblocks.

Some of the biggest gains I have made have been through watching repeated issues and then addressing those problems.

Coupled with heat maps - as to where visitors do and don't click - plus how far down they scroll can make a HUGE difference.
